satisfactory breakfast to start the day. beautiful building and rooms with good views. location short walk to the shore on the river overlooking a jungle hill on the other side, the city center and thotupola residence.

The breakfast was good with great food - toast and eggs. My room was nicely decorated and air-conditioned and featured exceptional view of the lake.

Mind-blowing views of the Mahaweli river from the balcony and porch, perfect for morning relaxation. Clean and comfortable family room with a kitchenette, makes for a convenient and enjoyable stay. Delicious Sri Lankan dinner and plentiful breakfast, with the only suggestion being to switch to fresh juice. Adorable labrador pup named Salut, adds an extra element of cuteness to the experience. Stunning wildlife and bird watching opportunities, including kingfishers, egrets, herons, and even a Sea Eagle. Amazingly friendly and helpful staff, creating a welcoming and peaceful atmosphere. Fantastic cooking class with Soluchana, where we learned traditional Sri Lankan recipes and spices. Nice location on the river, providing a serene and picturesque backdrop. Great facilities including free parking, outdoor dining area, restaurant, picnic area, and paid airport shuttle. Comfortable and clean rooms for a relaxing stay. Excellent leisure facilities such as a TV room, badminton, children's play area, and board games. Family-friendly amenities including children's buffet, playpen, and cots. Convenient services offered such as laundry and babysitting/child services. Wheelchair access available for added convenience. Air conditioning and non-smoking rooms provided, ensuring a comfortable and smoke-free environment. No pets allowed policy, maintaining a hygienic and enjoyable experience for all guests.

The breakfast was satisfying, with toast and eggs - just what I needed to start my day. My room had a cool, modern vibe and was really neat. the beds were comfy and gave me a great night's sleep. 😊

I recently stayed at the charming Thotupola Residence for a few nights and it was absolutely delightful. The hosts greeted me warmly and treated me to delicious, authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. The spacious and comfortable bedrooms offered stunning views of the river from the balcony. I loved waking up to the sight of interesting wildlife in the garden. The owners were incredibly friendly and even went out of their way to assist with any requests. one of the best accommodations I've had in Sri Lanka!

My room at Thotupola Residence was modern and practical. the excellent view from the accommodation was stunning. - the WiFi connection was strong and reliable. - the riverside location was marvelous, close to a scenic river surrounded by wildlife. - the residence is conveniently located near the center of town and other attractions.

our short break at thotupola residence exceeded expectations. the cooking class by sulochana was a highlight, and even our son enjoyed it. the owners were friendly, the view of the river was beautiful, and we learned a lot about sri lankan spices. well worth it.

Located by the river, the treehouse room in this charming property offers a cute and cozy stay. The hosts are fantastic and offer a cooking class, serving delicious food. The beautiful view and the warm hospitality make it a heavenly retreat.

The breakfast here was really good, plus we were able to check in early which was a nice surprise. I totally loved chilling by the riverside; it's such a peaceful spot. the staff were super friendly and made our stay even better! 🌟

the owners were incredibly kind and helpful, going above and beyond to assist us during our stay. Their excellent English skills made communication a breeze. the highlight was definitely the delicious Sri Lankan food, which was the best we had on our entire trip. the location, just 15 minutes from town, was convenient with the help of a tuk-tuk. We only wished we could have stayed longer. Cons: Can't fault the property in any way! 👌.

Some guests have found it challenging to find the hidden entrance of the hotel, especially at night.

The view from our balcony was absolutely incredible, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The dinner we had was mind-blowingly delicious! The owners went above and beyond to return my forgotten e-reader. We would highly recommend staying here!

We had a fantastic stay at a lovely riverside guesthouse in Kandy. The setting was beautiful, with birds and bats adding to the atmosphere. Our interconnecting rooms were spacious and perfect for our family of four. The food was delicious, especially the authentic curries. Although there was no air conditioning, the fans kept us comfortable. The staff, especially Sulochanna, were polite and had excellent English. we highly recommend this guesthouse for a peaceful and enjoyable stay in Kandy.

Gorgeous views, delicious local food, and free WiFi. The free manager's reception is a perfect excuse to pretend being fancy.
